The Colorado State Capitol Building, located at 200 East Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado, is the home of the Colorado General Assembly and the offices of the Governor of Colorado and Lieutenant Governor of Colorado. The building is intentionally reminiscent of the United States Capitol. Designed by Elijah E. Myers, it was constructed in the 1890s from Colorado white granite, and opened for use in November 1894. The distinctive gold dome consists of real gold plate, first added in 1908, commemorating the Colorado Gold Rush.

Every year, the City and County of Denver decorates the City & County Building for the Christmas Holiday Season. This year was the first year which they used LED Lights.

The Ultimate Music Xperience (UMX), is an annual, two-day battle of the bands which showcases some of Denver’s best undiscovered musical talent and the freshest emerging bands in the area. Approximately 80 local and solo and group acts will vie for a chance to play at one of the largest musical venues in the state: the 38th Annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair. The People’s Fair continues to provide an opportunity for homegrown bands to make an impression on the local music scene.

The UMX was again held at Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern, on March 28 and 29, from 10:00am-6:00pm both days. The UMX is sponsored by Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern, 99.5 The Mountain, The Onion, Miller Brewing Company and Dog House Music.

I’ve been wanting to do a site like this for awhile, but haven’t quite had enough of a portfolio to really do much with.  Now that I’ve been taking photos continuously for about a year and a half with about 14,000 clicks in total, it seems like a better time.  Essentially I plan on this being mostly a photoblog to let my readers know about new photos, and perhaps to document some tips and tricks over time.

My first entries will likely cover photos I took long ago, just to get them out there. I’ll slowly catch-up to some of the stuff I’ve been working on lately.
