The Ultimate Music Xperience (UMX), is an annual, two-day battle of the bands which showcases some of Denver’s best undiscovered musical talent and the freshest emerging bands in the area. Approximately 80 local and solo and group acts will vie for a chance to play at one of the largest musical venues in the state: the 38th Annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair. The People’s Fair continues to provide an opportunity for homegrown bands to make an impression on the local music scene.

The UMX was again held at Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern, on March 28 and 29, from 10:00am-6:00pm both days. The UMX is sponsored by Bender’s 13th Ave. Tavern, 99.5 The Mountain, The Onion, Miller Brewing Company and Dog House Music.

A toddler hits his mom in the face with a pair of sunglasses at the 2008 Capitol Hill People’s Fair

This past summer I volunteered at the Capitol Hill People’s Fair as a photographer which was the first time I photographed an event. I got numerous images from it which I will eventually post here, but this one is one of my favorites. While I don’t photograph people most of the time, it’s really fun to capture candid moments like these when they happen.
